TPEA testifies before Senate Finance Committee regarding inflation effects

"State employees and retirees live and work across the state, and [those] in your district[s] are hit with an inflation storm," TPEA's Ann Bishop, Ray Hymel, and Dan Maxwell (President of TPEA Statewide Retirees Chapter) testified before the Senate Finance Committee Wednesday regarding the effects of inflation on state of Texas employees and retirees. In the interim, the Committee is researching how rising prices are impacting the state's workforce. TPEA's aim is to call attention to the fact that many state employees and retirees are struggling under the weight of inflation, often taking second jobs or relying on food banks to make ends meet.
